One Visit Answers for Broken Teeth
Trips to the dentist are becoming less and less fearful, thanks to rapid innovation in dentistry.  Our office is making these visits even easier and more convenient with a new piece of equipment that repairs damaged teeth in a single one-hour visit.

This new tool, called CEREC, prepares and places natural-looking ceramic fillings for patients in a single office visit.  No more mouths filled with "silver" fillings. No more messy impressions. No more monopolizing patients' time by making them schedule two visits. CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology to design and mill restorations such as veneers and partial and full crowns, and all other single=tooth restorations. The restorations are made from a single block for high-quality, biocompatible, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant ceramic material.  What's more, the ceramic matches the color of the patient's own teeth!

CEREC also allows me to be more conservative. Using this technology, I can salvage more of the healthy part of the patients tooth when preparing the tooth for the new restoration. Patients are truly benefiting from technology and innovation in the dental office.

Digital Intraoral Camera
Now you can see what your dentist sees.  The intraoral camera is a miniaturized camera that allows patients to view the inside of their own mouths live. It is much easier to understand what is happening in your mouth if you can see the problem on a computer monitor.

Waterlase Dental Laser
Waterlase™ technology uses a patented and unique combination of laser energy and water to gently and precisely remove dental decay with no shot, no drill, and no pain in most cases.  Heat and vibration are the causes of most of the pain associated with the drill.  Since cutting the tooth with Waterlase™ Technology does not cause heat or vibration, most dental procedures can be performed with no pain, virtually eliminating the need for anesthesia in most cases.  The Waterlase™ removes decay very precisely which allows you to keep a healthy tooth sturcture and have healthier teeth longer.  Click Here for the full story on Waterlase technology.

Filling Removal
Between 1960-1975, dentists put in 1.5 billion Silver/Mercury fillings.  The problem:  Silver/Mercury fillings expand and contract, so someday it is likely that they will break the filled tooth.  Unfortunately, not all dentists may even be aware of the potential long-term problem.  Since our focus is on the long-term solution to any problem, we recommend a replacement to these fillings that will provide the patient with a healthier solution.

Dental Implants
We can give you teeth that don't move when you speak or chew!

Dental  implants may be thought of as artificial tooth roots which allow the fabricated teeth to be firmly attached to the mouth.  They may be used to replace all teeth missing in a jaw or just to replace one or several missing teeth.  The treatment choices can vary tremendously.

All surgery, tooth fabrication and other specialty work are performed in our office. We also offer an exceptional variety of different implant techniques.  This allows us to customize a course of treatment specifically for you.

There are three classes of dental implants:  1) implants that attach to the gum only (intramucosal inserts),  2) implants that attach within bone (endosteal screws or blades),  3) implants that attach on top of bone (subperiosteals).

The class of implant chosen for each patient depends upon a complex interaction between functional and cosmetic needs, available bone, quality and quantity of remaining teeth, emotional temperament, treatment time and finances.

The treatment options available for patients are frequently quite varied and are better discussed in the office on an individualized basis.

Biteguard Headache Prevention
Preventing migraine at its source…without drugs.  People with migraine pain suffer a lot. Medical examinations often show, however, that they're otherwise perfectly healthy. A recent medical study confirms that people who suffer migraine pain and chronic headache clench their jaws in a balanced, centered position. This causes extremely intense muscular contraction, but little strain on the jaw. Nighttime jaw clenching usually goes unnoticed - but it sets the stage for migraine pain and chronic headache pain.

The NTI Tension Suppression System (NTI-tss) is the only non-drug, non surgical device cleared by the FDA for prevention of medically diagnosed migraine pain and jaw disorders through the reduction of trigeminally innervated muscular activity.

Dr. Phelps now offers the NTI-tss that reduces clenching intensity. The NTI-tss is a small, nearly invisible removable device that you'll wear when you are asleep. You can also be fitted with a removable NTI-tss to wear all day long.  Click here for more information.
